Great things are happening at freEner-g! As of August 1, 2008, freEner-g has launched its Twin Cities Pilot Project! While we are still working out the formalities with Xcel to get the final contract signed, we have begun aerial and street assessments. In addition, we are in the process of conducting phone assessments to pre-qualify homes for our project. If you have signed up to participate in our pilot project, you will be receiving a call from us very soon. We look forward to talking with you!

Update on freEner-g's Open House and date change
Please note the date for our Open House has changed to Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
We would like to invite you to freEner-g's Open House! Come and learn more about our solar leasing program and get a roof-top tour of our warehouse's solar system. Results of freEner-g's customer survey
In order to determine the viability of solar leasing in the Twin Cities, freEner-g conducted a customer survey from February 2008 to June 2008. This survey focused on what Twin Cities' residents would be willing to pay for a solar lease in reference to their current electric bill. While the survey is no longer a part of our data collection process, we would like to share the results with you.
These results are based on 218 surveys completed:
- The average electricity bill was $80 a month
- 94% of respondents understand that conventional electricity
has a negative environmental impact
- 95% of respondents are interested in solar PV for their home
- Based on the benefits of a monthly fee program, the average
respondent is willing to pay 1.49 times their current electric bill
- If a commitment to leasing solar today would result in a
decreasing lease rate over five years, respondents would be
willing to pay 1.65 times their current electric bill today
freEner-g's intent was to deliver a price guide by the end of July. However, we are still analyzing financing options in order to deliver the best price to our customers. freEner-g will provide a price guide as soon as it is available. We apologize for the delay.

Overview of the steps in freEner-g's solar leasing program
1. Aerial Assessment - an aerial view of your roof based on publically
available aerial photography
2. Street Assessment - a preliminary roof evaluation conducted at street
level (customer is not required to be present)
3. Phone Assessment - a phone call to gather more detailed information
regarding your home and to address your
questions and concerns
4. Energy Audit - requested through Xcel Energy
5. On-Site Assessment - full electrical, solar and structural evaluation,
plus presentation of the leasing contract
(customer is required to be present)
6. Sign Service Contract and payment of deposit
7. Installation and on-going maintenance |

Recent involvement at green events
Over the past few weeks freEner-g has attended the Green Jobs Rally at Saint Paul College, the White Bear Resource Fair, and the Powderhorn Art Fair. Overall, we received great responses and enthusiasm for our solar leasing program. Thanks to everyone who attended those events!
